We have been keeping track of what has been trending in the beauty industry. If you’ve stayed on track like we have, you’ll know that there have been some big hits and some big misses. We’re going to avoid the misses this summer and stick to what we know works! We have collected five of our favorite summer makeup trends for you to try.
1. Glossy Lids
Lipgloss is coming back into our makeup drawers. But before putting them away after you gloss up your lips, don’t forget to add some shine to your eyelids! Yep, this trend gives that “just got out of the pool” look and we love it. After applying your eyeshadow, seal it with a swipe of your favorite gloss or vaseline. Or if you are looking for a more natural look, skip the shadow and go straight for the gloss. Shine bright like a diamond!
2. Just a Hint of Color
Remember the early 2000s when French manicures were all the rage? They are coming back, but with a twist and some color. Instead of lining your nail with a thick white, opt for a thin strip with a pop of color! This brings a fun twist to a classic look. If you are wanting to switch things up even more, instead of lining the edge of your nail, bring the color to your cuticle! We can’t wait to see what color you choose.
3. Add Some Sparkle
Remember when you were a kid and anything that sparkled you had to put it on? Even if that meant getting a rash on your cheeks? Shoutout to Blueberry Roll-On Glitter for that. Don’t worry, cheek rashes are in the past. However, those that glitter and sparkle are not! Line your eyes with a glitter eyeliner or a shimmering eyeshadow. Each time your wink, you’ll shine!
4. Bare It All
It’s time to bare it all this summer. Embrace your beauty and your confidence! While we love makeup and we think it’s a wonderful tool to use to explore our creativity and to emphasize our beauty, we also believe that it’s wonderful to show off your natural features every now and then. After your morning skincare regimen (if you don’t have one, create one), leave your face bare! If a naked face is too intimidating, use a tinted moisturizer instead of your heavy foundation. Let your skin breath! If your face is looking a little ghostly, add a little color to your cheeks by lightly dabbing your favorite color lipstick to your cheeks. Add some gloss to those lips and you’re good to go!
5. Blushing Beauty
While we’re on the topic of adding color to your cheeks, let’s dive in a little deeper. We are going to be blushing all summer long with this trend. Bring some drama to your face by layering blush on your cheeks and lightly bringing it up to your temple. Don’t forget to add some shimmer to your cheekbones and the inner corners of your eyes to tie up the look!
